Timekeeping files are used to keep track of a worker's completed hours for features such as Earned Wage Access (a.k.a., EWA), or advances. There are several ways in which these files can be sent to Branch.
- Using one of our built-in integrations
- Sending files to a custom email
- Note: This method is most common, as most payroll and time and attendance systems support scheduled reports via email.
- Via an established Branch SFTP
- Manually importing files in Pay Admin using the instructions below:
- Under Organization → click on Timekeeping.
- Click on Import Timekeeping on the right side of the screen.
- Upload a CSV file that includes a row for each worker's ID, Punch In, and Punch Out records.
- You can click on Download our template to get started with a new file template, or use the provided example when formatting your own file.

Branch is not a bank. Banking services are provided by Lead Bank, Member FDIC and Evolve Bank & Trust, Member FDIC, which are Branch’s bank partners. The name of the bank partner for your account is listed on the back of your debit card and can also be found in the Branch App under “Your Account Information”. FDIC insurance only applies to eligible accounts should the bank holding your funds fail. Branch Mastercard Debit Cards are issued by Evolve Bank & Trust or Lead Bank, Member FDIC, as applicable, pursuant to a license from Mastercard and may be used everywhere Mastercard debit cards are accepted.
