Connect with your Account Manager for more information on how to acquire 1099-NEC/K filing services. Below you'll find relevant details to consider before enrolling.
Note: If you don't have contact information for your Account Manager, send an email to accountmanagement@branchapp.com.
When is the cut-off for enrollment?
The cutoff for enrollment is December 31 of the calendar year you want to begin using the service. Branch can't guarantee that a worker's W-9 information will be collected in time for on-time filings if you enroll close to this date, and Branch isn't responsible for late fees your organization may incur due to late enrollment.
Do I need to take any action to re-enroll?
Enrollment remains active unless you opt out. Review the terms of your contract or reach out to your Account Manager for more information.
How and when are forms filed to state and federal authorities?
You are responsible for submitting filings through Pay Admin come January. Once you do, Branch facilitates filing to state and federal authorities as required, through our partner Zenwork—see Getting Started with 1099-NEC/K Filing for filing and acceptance timing.
How does Branch define the "Payor" for the 1099-NEC/K forms?
During enrollment, you provide the Payor information for Branch to use for filing. Your organization is listed as the Payor on all 1099-NEC/K forms.
Does Branch support quarterly IRS payments?
Branch doesn't currently handle quarterly IRS payments.
Does Branch support W-2 forms?
Branch doesn't handle W-2 tax forms.
Does Branch support W-9 forms?
Yes—see Branch's Role in 1099-NEC/K Reporting and IRS Compliance for what Branch collects, verifies, and provides. Branch collects W-9 information, but does not provide W-9 forms.
Can I be notified when a worker's TIN verification result comes back?
Yes—see How do I file a 1099-NEC/K form? for how to subscribe to the TIN verification webhook. Some customers use this to gate shift assignment or payouts for workers without a matched TIN; Branch doesn't pause payouts automatically, so that decision and its implementation are yours.
How is my organization billed for the 1099-NEC/K service?
For billing specifics, review your contract or reach out to your Account Manager for more information.
