How to Enroll in 1099-NEC Filing Services

Criteria for Filing 1099-NEC Forms
Before you submit your 1099 forms, make sure the following requirements are complete:
- TIN Verification Passed: Confirm that workers’ legal names and Social Security Numbers (SSNs) match IRS records.
- Accurate Earnings: Review and verify workers’ earnings using Branch’s tools, including the CSV download or individual earnings details.
- All Form Fields Complete: Ensure all required tax details for your workers are correctly filled in.
Then, in the new year, you’ll need to submit your filing in order for forms to be filed with the IRS and sent to your workers via email.
Filing Deadlines
The IRS requires 1099 forms to be filed and distributed to workers by January 31, 2025.
- To meet this deadline, submit your forms through the Pay Admin tool by January 29, 2025, to allow for processing time.
- Forms typically take 1–2 business days to be accepted by the IRS.
How and When Workers Receive Their 1099 Forms
Once the IRS accepts your filing, workers will receive their 1099 forms via an emailed link. This usually happens 1–2 business days after you submit your filing.
- Note: The IRS has a filing freeze until January 13th, so forms submitted before this date will not be accepted or distributed earlier.
How and When Your Organization Receives 1099 Forms
Your organization can download individual 1099 forms through the 1099 Taxes page in your Pay Admin tool.

Filing Threshold for 2024
Any worker who earns $600 or more during the year will require a 1099-NEC form to be filed. Branch automatically calculates this based on payouts sent through the platform, including any non-Branch payouts you add.
